This particular supergroup combines Lickgoldensky, Hot Cross, Orchid, Saetia and Anodyne, holy smokes. But sounds very little like any of those bands save Anodyne. This is, like, post post-hardcore or something, and didn't crawl too far from the womb that spawned Forensics and Tigershark. The wavering, warbley and yelly vocals are scattered about a wall of shoegaze/post-hardcore guitars, driving drums and some dirty, sludgy bass riffs.

"Symbols & Abbreviations" is my jam. This song really shows what the band was capable of, and if they had released an LP I would have hoped it'd be along this line of wave after wave of swirling, driving instrumentals and hoarse, desolate vocals. "Black Train" is probably the band's heaviest and most straightforward venture, dipping mostly into Anodyne-light territory. The song really kicks into gear just before the first minute mark, mixing some post-metal guitars in there to really up the intensity. The song concludes in a sludgy, crust punk/hardcore fashion. "4" is pretty much drone/ambient/noise with some sparse yelling at the end of the fuzzy track. "Come in Alone" begins like an alternative radio rock track with a wailing/repeating guitar riff that prides itself of redundancy until about 40 seconds in when it's changed up right before the song gets into its groove. It's alright but pales in comparison to "Symbols & Abbreviations" and "Black Train", as well as "November 2004" which is pretty sweet with the cleanest and weirdest of the vocals but it really works and almost touches on Frodus or the like. The opener "Gods and Queens" is a distorted mess of genres with some of the cleanest vocals that again remind me of Frodus and end on more of a Ladder Devils trip. Good stuff. Not amazing, but worth checking out.
