For fans ofReversal Of Man, Discordance AxisOwen Hart, Clancy 6, Daughters, Ed Gein, Dispensing Of False Halos, Seyarse, The Great Redneck Hope, EnkephalinAntioch Arrow, Black Kites, Bury Me Standing, (old) Cave In, Isodora Crane, Jenny Piccolo, The Now, Phoenix Bodies and Yusuke  aka PROPER Screamo.

OKTOBER SKYLINE were a sick very screamy breakdown/speed laden hardcore band with lots of thrash/metal influence. If you threw Jenny Piccolo and Owen Hart into a meat grinder, this is what you'd get. There's a little extra dipped into breakdowns and Dispensing Of False Halos melodies underlying all the craziness, also not unlike The Great Redneck Hope. Songs such as "The Story of Jimmy Plaid Pants" juxtaposes a few styles, from acidic Daughters avant-garde screamo to mosh-like metallic growling, spazzy math-grind and simplistic hardcore punk. Basically these guys are all over the place but stay rooted in abrasive, spastic screamy hardcore on speed. If you need more convincing check out their best song, which actually has 2 different versions included in the discography download, called "My Hair Just Grew Three Inches". That should be a make or break song. I'd also check out this crazy live video, linked here and below. If you like spazzed out screaming you should be all over this. I should also mention that the band's cohesive style almost comes apart at the seams during their final split 7", as it grittier and more caustic than previous endeavors.

  3. The very first time I went on bandcamp their diskokraphy album was the first thing I found. I listened to a sample of "Sir, May I Speak Incoherently?" and found it absolutely fascinating so I downloaded the entire album, not realising I'd listened to the only quiet song.
I gave the album a chance and I was totally shaken when I heard the opening of "My Hair Just Grew 3 and a Half Inches", from that moment I was hooked.

Now they're one of my favourite bands of all time ;)
