...and updates

So yeah, touring is fucking amazing. I got back on the 21st after a 10 day/9 show tour of the Eastern United States. Our band мятеж toured with our good friends (now family for life) People's Temple Project. I have over 200 videos and hours of footage to go through, but my thinking is that I'll post everything as a show by show review as well as condense them all down to a 15-20 minute tour video that I will try to have done before the end of September. Until then...I dunno. Go to shows. Support your scene. Don't got a scene? Build one. (if you have time...and want to) I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped us out on tour and came to the shows. It was truly unforgettable. More thanks to come <3

Here is the tracklisting for last month's reviews.

1) WET PETALS - Cascade

2) POTENCE - L'Amour Au Temps De La Peste

3) BIRCH - Rorschach

4) 124C41+ - Tagma 2

5) TRUMAN - A Dim Light Amidst the Darkness of Despair

6) WOLF TEETH - Mother and the Gun

7) PAPER SKELETONS - Hymn

8) DODA LOV - Kalla Händer

9) DOWNFALL OF GAIA - ...These Wet Feathers

Much love,

Dave / OMSB / ZBR

As always, on or around the 1st of every month, I will be posting a ZIP file with songs for the upcoming month with ALL specifics deleted from the tags, so unless you already know the band, there is NO information regarding each track.

During the following month, I will post reviews for those bands and link the tracks to the review so you can associate the two together. This way you can listen to a new song/band and have little-to-no bias. Below, I have re-posted the August mp3 mix that is used for this month's reviews.

The new OMSB mp3 Mix #9 will be reviewed in September and the 12 songs contain a bunch of goodness, including:
*-* a band that Old Soul got me into
*-* a two-group collaboration release that houses a song that competes with any song in either band's repertoire
*-* an electronic/sassy/noise/pop/screamy punk band that I saw open for The Blood Brothers back in 2003 or so
*-* a Japanese band that happened to be on a 4-way split and they blew my fucking mind
*-* another Toronto band that I'm smitten with, kinda North Of America on copious amounts of marijuana

Any bands/labels that are interested in having their stuff reviewed, please email zegemabeachrecords@gmail.com: with "Open Mind Saturated Brain" as the subject. Please keep in mind that I don't review everything, just what jives with the blog. I will, however, listen to everything you send me.
